Samsung Expands One UI 8 Beta to More Galaxy Phones, Stable Release Set for September

Samsung Expands One UI 8 Beta

While many expected Samsung to begin rolling out the One UI 8 update based on Android 16 to older Galaxy devices this month, the company has officially confirmed that the stable release is now scheduled for September. However, there's good news for early adopters — the One UI 8 beta is expanding to more Galaxy devices starting today.

Samsung initially launched the One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy S25 series back in May, followed by a full release on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 in late July. Until now, Samsung has remained quiet about the stable Android 16 rollout timeline.

That changes today.

In its latest announcement, Samsung revealed that the stable One UI 8 update will begin rolling out to eligible Galaxy smartphones in September. While an exact release date hasn't been shared, it’s unlikely to land at the very start of the month — suggesting a mid-to-late September window.

Samsung is expanding the One UI 8 beta program beyond the Galaxy S25 series, introducing support for a wider range of Galaxy smartphones. The beta update is now confirmed for the following devices:

  • Galaxy S24
  • Galaxy S24+
  • Galaxy S24 Ultra
  • Galaxy Z Flip 6
  • Galaxy Z Fold 6
  • Galaxy S23
  • Galaxy S23+
  • Galaxy S23 Ultra
  • Galaxy Z Flip 5
  • Galaxy Z Fold 5
  • Galaxy A36
  • Galaxy A55
  • Galaxy A35
  • Galaxy A54

According to Samsung, the One UI 8 beta will be available for the Galaxy S24 series and 2024’s foldable models starting next week. The remaining eligible Galaxy devices are expected to receive the beta update in September, with a stable One UI 8 release likely between mid to late September.
